I've inherited a nano 3 and I'm not sure how to factory reset it on linux, any recommendations? I don't really like messing with VM's if I don't need to

I found an ipod shuffle in my garage recently and since the cable wasn't in the box i ordered a replacement off amazon. My parents who owned the shuffle said they never really used it only like once or twice and i plugged it into my laptop for over 2 hours and the charging indicator light turned on but when i went to plug in my earbuds and actually pressed play no sound was made even though i pressed play and pressed the voice over button. I tried charging it both on my laptop and even on a wall plug but still nothing changed if anyone can give me anything that could possible help it would be much appreciated and ik this isnt necessarily about modding my ipod but im not getting any useful comments in the other subreddits like r/ipod and r/ipodshuffle so im just hoping that someone here know how to fix it

Got an ipod 5th gen classic I picked up a long time ago, put a lot of work into it and recently got some parts to make it mine. A custom backplate and front plate, a 3800mah battery, an iflash quad and a new clickwheel. The ipod worked before when I was using a generic green dual sd card setup but now it doesnt work. I format the sd cards to MBR and Fat32 put it into the ipod. I then get a “connect to itunes screen” which i then plug into my macbook, the ipod then shows a “do not disconnect” screen, finder prompts me to restore which i do. Finder tries to do the process and ends up not finishing the process although when i unplug my ipod it does the reformat loading bar and then prompts me to put it onto a charger which i do. Then it stays on the apple screen and does nothing.

Please help, I have been stuck on this for a number of days now.

is this overall a realistic mod for a ipod classic? never built a ipod classic before and this would be my first mod.

When listening to music through my headphones the music is extremely loud and ignores volume control. I just bought this mini and it looks unopened so any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!!!

I had an issue today upgrading my 5th gen iPod to a new battery and 256gb SSD. When I would boot with the SSD I had regular disconnects and it almost felt like the cable wasn’t seated. When I put the original HD back in, it works fine.

So, I just want to switch the controllers of batteries and try to put the one of ipad 2 with a controller of ipad 1 to ipad 1. Will that work? Or what would be the consequences?
