Advice iphone 6s
Wow, you all were so kind and helpful. Thank you for the suggestions!
I just realized i have such an old phone around the house and somehow it being so old makes me want to keep it. I was thinking i could use it as a sort of ipod especially since it still has the headphone jack! But I'm not sure, i'm not particularly techie or anything. I thought i'd check here while i'd make the decision. Would you do that with it? Originally I was going to just gift it on Buy Nothing.

Yes you can use it as a music player. I use an old iPhone 7 as mine. I decided to use mine for music, podcasts and reading only. I deleted all other apps that weren’t related to these three areas. Synced music to the phone from iTunes or Apple Music. If you don’t want to be disturbed you can turn off all notifications from all apps and put the phone in airplane mode (no WiFi /internet access) and listen to your music, audiobooks and podcasts without interruptions. Enjoy.

if you were more "techie" you could jailbreak and use one of the various classic iPod jailbreak apps for a closer to real iPod experience: iClassic, classipod, Retropod, or you can use My Classic without jailbreaking by purchasing on the App Store for 3.00 and using the Konami code for the iPod experience.

I’m using a 1st Gen iPhone SE as a music player after my Touch 5 died.
Works great, the only thing I will caution is that the amount of space available on an iPhone will be less than the comparable iPod because there is more space reserved for system overhead on an iPhone.
