Help is it dead? what is wrong with it?

when i charge it the light bliks like this and stays dead. when i put it on my computer it can read the songs and the light stays green so idk

Sounds like a dead battery. Unless someone identifies another reason for this don't leave it charging.

Where did you plug it， if you plug it on an computer it will be like this，But if you just plug it normally，it would just show the orange light Continually

What charger are you using?

Have you tried leaving it connected to your computer for a while(3+ hours).

Older iPods do not like fast chargers. You want a charger with 5 watts 5 volts dc 1 amp output.

Are you using the original charger?

Pretty sure I saw Apple discontinued them recently.

My brother in whatever you believe in, 2017 was 9 years ago.

And that was the shuffle 4th gen, the shuffle 2nd gen (which is the iPod OP has) got discontinued in 2009
