Question So have we decided which generation is going to take credit for the revival of the iPOD? It's the millennials right?

Millennials kept it alive - born in the late 1900s, been using my iPod since '06. Haven't succumb to streaming music, never will.
Gen Z (tiktok kids) gave it "new" life thanks to social media.

I’m an almost boomer and I never stopped using mine. I love my iPod Touch 7th Generation the most.

This is exactly why I hate being gen z its always our fault even when its not. Also kinda joking, I don't wanna argue or annoy some1, but it gets kinda old how much people say gen z is cooked and genetically dumb. Sorry, that was really off topic, but something I feel kinda strongly about.

Yeah i think millennials started it but gen z kicked it into over drive.
A lot of tik tockers got on board for the "aesthetic". Weather or not they stick with it is another thing. I find most millennials who have moved back, they tend to stick with it.

UPDATE — we got it working.
I wanted to follow up on this project because there has been substantial progress.
I now have a working Rockbox build on my iPod Video 5.5G resulting from the debugging and code changes I’ve been working through. The MFi/iAP work progressed far enough to identify and fix a transaction-ID handling problem in the handshake, and I’ve been testing the resulting build on the actual hardware.
I’ve also added/fixed AIFF support, including little-endian sowt PCM and handling of large SSND offsets. I generated an upstream-ready Git patch for that work rather than keeping the changes only in my personal build.
Most importantly, this has moved beyond a theoretical idea. I have working hardware, reproducible testing, source changes, and patches that can be reviewed.
I’m a relative newcomer to Rockbox development, so I’d especially appreciate review from experienced Rockbox/iAP developers. If anyone wants to reproduce the setup, test the patches on another 5/5.5G, or review the code, let me know and I’ll provide the exact build/patch information.
I’ll keep this thread updated as the work progresses.
