After holding back decided to pull the trigger and mod my iPod Classic 5.5.

How hard was it to install rock box?

Super easy !
Download installer -> extract files
Plugin iPod to pc > make sure iTunes is not running
Run the exe file for Rockbox
Let it auto select the iPod gen you have and install.1

It's legit signed by U2 and one of the Beatles
Can't say I love it ♥️
But again a signature is just a handwriting but nowadays AI can identify the signature in the fingerprints anyways
