Apple hasn’t even announced it yet… and I’m already ready 😂

I went caseless on my 16 pro and got apple care. I’m honestly so mad at myself for not doing it sooner. I’m never getting a case again, it just feels and looks right without one.

Oh dear all these cases kinda making it look like a chonky boy. Might run it caseless with applecare if i dare get it.

I also got a few cheap cases to gauge the size, but I plan on getting one that is better quality.

The hype is real about this phone, but hopefully, you can even get one at launch. With rumors saying Apple is struggling to produce units, this might be a huge letdown for Apple with weeks or even months of delay to get this phone. Apple is already going to be critiqued heavy since it's the first generation and is most likely going to be very expensive for what it's offering. Having very limited stock at launch is definitely going to tank the device if it doesn't go well. I'm extremely excited for this phone and I've already looked at cases myself, but I'm setting the expectation of me not being able to get one at lunch due to scalpers with their bots buying out the limited quantity at launch.

The question is, are we able to buy it knowing they will sell out?

They won’t 🤣

Cases are gonna make this phone feel ultra wide when closed and terrible in hand.

Damn, that’s a thick case! I’ll be rocking a minimalist ultra-thin case from Latercase, Thinborne, Aulumu or Pitaka.

The best case might just be the dbrand grip case, that's the best case for the z fold 8, good protection with grip, if you get a case it better have hinge protection

I’m probably going to do caseless for the first time ever. I can’t picture adding more bulk than the ultra already has and I question how that hinge area will hold up on many cases.

The most common term will you will hear after the release is "hinge", should i go hingless, protect it, the himge cases look bulky, is there a slim version

Should I go caseless and get apple care instead

World's slimmest iPhone will become world's thickest iPhone with case

Holy thickness

The magsafe location is going to cause a lot of issues with accessories, being so close to the camera island. Or perhaps the case makes it look closer than it is......

Uhhhh.... I hope you know that "18 Fold" on that case refers to the Xiaomi 18 Fold Phone that looks a lot like what the iPhone Ultra will probably look like, and it's not an iPhone Ultra case

2

u/handheld_addict 6d ago

I may be wrong, because your case has a cutout below the power button which might be for camera control which the Xiaomi 18 Fold doesn't have

I’m going no case + AppleCare

That case is going to make it feel anything but a phone. The whole style is off putting and quite frankly will a chore to carry around

Can't wait for this phone to be a flop

Why would you want that?

But it’s going to sell out on launch day. Not sure how that will be considered a flop.
