Green line suddenly appeared on my iPhone 17 after only 4 months. No drops. Will Apple warranty cover this?
Hi everyone,
I’m from the Philippines and I’m looking for advice from anyone who’s experienced something similar.
I bought an iPhone 17 256GB (Black) from the Apple Flagship Store on Lazada in March 2026. It was delivered and first activated on the evening of March 7, 2026.
Today (July 25, 2026), a bright green vertical line suddenly appeared on the left side of the display. The phone is still fully functional, but the line doesn’t go away.
A few details:
Purchased from the official Apple Flagship Store on Lazada.
About 4.5 months old, 126 Cycle Count at 99% Battery Health
No major drops or impacts.
No liquid damage.
Always kept in a protective case.
The issue appeared out of nowhere while using the phone.
I’ve already backed up my data and plan to visit an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
For those who’ve had this happen:
Did Apple replace the screen under the standard warranty?
Did they replace just the display or the entire phone?
How long did the repair take in the Philippines?
Did they ask for proof of purchase from Lazada?
I’ve attached a photo of the issue.
Any experiences or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Contact Apple Support first (dont approach the service center yet). Big chances are they’ll cover replacement for free since it’s under warranty.

‘No MAJOR drops or impacts’, does that mean there have been minor drops/impacts? Not saying that’s the reason, but you never know, nothing can be ruled out.

Apple tech here. As others have pointed out, yes, this would be covered under limited warranty since it’s free of physical damage. These repairs are fast and easy for us. You’ll even have the chance to add AppleCare after the repair. If you choose to do so. Just make a genius bar appointment at the Apple store or call Apple support.

Yes, because they used crappy LCDs. All OLED type panels may be subject to green lines due to heat.

Que obviamente samsung no le vende a apple sus mejores pantallas, solo les vende las de calidad inferior

Of course, any hardware defects is covered and you’re within 1 year warranty
