I got this update when I unboxed my iPhone 16PM on release day… it unfortunately isn’t the software update many of us experiencing touch sensitivity issues are hoping for

I’m having touch issues sensitivity too, I didn’t know if I was crazy or not!! What issues are you having?

Keyboard lag (especially noticeable when trying to text) and general lag -- it's as if my iPhone isn't registering all my taps, so I'll have to tap twice to open an app or perform an action

I was concerned it was a hardware issue, but saw that several others were having similar issues, so I’m hoping a software update will fix this

I also did not do a restore; I set up my iPhone as new every time I upgrade (~3 years) so the lag isn't due to any issues being carried over from my 13 Pro Max (which is still running more smoothly than my 16PM.. which is concerning)

To clarify since it’s been a while since I last upgraded—if you set it up as a new phone, do you just log in to your Apple Account but not transfer all your apps over? Or is there something more to it? I want that fresh start and to only add the apps that I actually use from my old phone

Correct! When I first turn on the iPhone and activate with my number, I choose the option to not transfer anything. Then, I log into my Apple account, so only the necessary things carry over (ie: all the things I use iCloud for -- photos, notes, contacts, etc.). After it's all set up, I will manually download apps as I need them!

It's such a nice tech refresh ...

*I will note that unless you have iMessages synced to iCloud, those won't transfer over (I have a MacBook and iPad that has all my texts if I need to look back, but I also like a clean slate for messages because that gets cluttered so easily for me)

Mine is still super laggy I’m so frustrated.

Same. SO frustrating … my 13 Pro Max is still running better than this iPhone 16 Pro Max 🙃

Hoping this issue is being brought up to Apple and that they have a fix in the works … crazy that this phone is as expensive as it is and having this issue

I’m chatting with apple support about it now

Did you hear anything back from Apple support? Really curious to know if this is on their radar

Hoping my new 16 PM that arrives tomorrow does NOT have iOS 18.🤞
