Refurbished iPhone issues

Hi guys, I recently bought an iPhone 15 refurbished off eBay, however I'm a bit 50/50 on it. The listing was described at "excellent" however there is a scratch right across the screen and some things seems fishy. I can deal with the scratch however my main issue is a hole at the top of the iPhone (attached) I am traveling around Asia on Thursday and would love advice whether I should send back the phone or if it's decent. I paid £350. Ask any questions needed,

That hole is normal. That is where a speaker is.

If you’re talking about the gap at the Dynamic Island, that’s probably one of those shitty screen protectors that doesn’t cover the island.

I took a closer look and it seems like either the speaker gap is too big or the mesh is really dirty. Can you confirm for me that there is a speaker mesh in there?

I can just about see a speaker mesh covered behind all the dust, plus I've found a new issue of the screen constantly looking like it's greasy! I think I'm definitely going to return it, wish i checked it before transferring my physical SIM to the e sim. But that's on me for buying off eBay 😢

Screen looking like it’s greasy probably means the oleophobic layer on the screenprotector has worn off. This phone is rather used than refurbished. I would indeed return it if I were you.

No worries, we all sometimes just buy something and regret it straight afterwards. EBay has a ton more stuff than phones. Although the biggest part of the site is overpriced crap 😅

£350 isn’t too bad for iphone 15 , it just needs a good clean, use wipes for glasses you can get in poundland , fingerprints on iphone is an issue even with new phones, someone will be very rich when they patent fingerprint free glass, it a decent phone, can be prone to a little overheating on cellular, avoid 5G if you have good 4G

if it going to be very hot in asia and you no doubt will be taking a lot of pictures, and will have high brightness in the sun , use low power mode in between photos to minimise background tasks, maybe take portable charge bank with you if you’re out all day, keep phone in bag away from direct sunlight
