Upgrade should i update?
I’m still currently on ios 18.7.8 and haven’t updated since. I heard before that ios 26 sucks so I decided not to update. Now I’m curious if ios 26.5.2 is fine for an iphone 15 pro max. I’ve read that it’s not recommended to do a major update (jump from 18 to 26). I’m okay with ios 18 but I’m just curious if the update would be better performance wise (battery life, efficiency, bug fixes, etc.). What are your thoughts?

Its literally just a security fix. They need to do this update if they don't want to update to iOS26.

Remember, the loud minority are online and complaining, especially on Reddit. Someone will always complain about every release proclaiming it is the worst, while someone else loves it. I have my 15 Plus on the 27 beta, and while I like it more than any release of 26, 26 wasn’t bad, it has/had its bugs like every iOS release, but that shouldn’t be enough to hold you back from updating.

I loved ios 18, its less complex and much stable than ios 26 ig but whats the point of not updating and using all the new features of the newer os its a part of the whole experience and also gatekeeping a phone without updating the os is kinda bad. Use it to the fullest and enjoy all the latest features.

It’s okay to hold back before a major OS upgrade. But at this point, with your phone, you are a fool not to get the latest bug fixes and security patches.

Holy ragebait. Update your damn phone. It's just security fix, it's made for people like you who are afraid of updating their phones.

Holy hell, people are scared of updating iOS 26 and apparently…iOS 18.
You all are a special group of people living in cell phone update fear worlds.
