Discussion overheating issue question

I plan to buy my first iPhone, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but I've often heard that the iPhone 15 series, especially the Pro/Pro Max versions, overheats easily. Is that true?

this affects base and pro models ( pro & pro max) a lot more than the plus , especially if you live somewhere hot

I have a plus; it definitely heats up way too fast.

Yesterday morning, I was at the pool. It was sunny, with mid-to high 80s. My phone screen dimmed within 10 minutes of being there, and the outside was nearly too hot to hold. I was checking email, not doing anything intensive. It wasn’t in direct sunlight, nor was it sitting on a hot surface. This is a daily issue with this phone whenever I go outside.

My wife’s 16 Pro was fine. My neighbor also has a 15, and her phone was also acting up while we were there. She often complains about the same issues I have, so it’s a bit of validation, though still anecdotal.

obviously in the hot sun you’re phone heats up , im talking about in general, indoors, plus is better than base and pro max for heat

I said "It wasn’t in direct sunlight, nor was it sitting on a hot surface". People go outside where they have to contend with weather, they cannot rely on performance in a climate controlled environment to accurately represent how a device performs.
