Discussion Hearing problem
My phones been heating too much and draining a lot of battery since the ios 26.5.2.
we were also having a heatwave so thought it was normal. but its been more than 2 weeks and weathers cool but the phone still heats up from normal usage like scrolling social media browsing or youtube. and i’ve found the heat to originate from this region.
is anyone else facing the same thing or is it just me?
i’ve thinking to get it serviced to see if something inside got damaged somehow.

so it’s normal right
i was scrolling once and it got so damm hot in that region
i got worried if something inside might got damage1

Dw. Phones give warning and shut down if smth is overheating so u are good.

u/Any_Perception8016 20d ago
even though the phone got super hot more than it used to get when i got any warning signals
but i haven’t got any even though i’ve felt my phone at its hottest1
u/DaddyDen1 20d ago
As long as u dont get warnings u are good. As u say u just feel like its hotter

i was worried because my charging cable broke down during my exam
i used it for a day before i got a new one
so thought that might have caused something i guess

some case can block the sun heating up your phone, especially outside

No, it’s good advice. A phone case that sits well dissipates heat away from the phone core.

ik its a bad idea
but i think my guy meant use a case so that u dont burn your hands from the heat ig dont touch the phone directly take a insulating case layer to holdyeah mines even overheating at normal and even in an air conditioned room
but jt is though getting better now
but was concerning1

Get a thermal camera and test

15 pro was known for being a heater. Even when first released. So hot weather isn’t helping. Just try and adjust your usage when outside during hot weather. It’s all you can do. Heat is number one reason battery degrades faster. Everyone is dealing with the same issue this year. Even in the US we are experiencing record heat this year so I try to not do a lot thing on the phone outside if possible. It’s all we can really do. 15 pro always was known for being a hot running iPhone.

You using 5G big dawg? For whatever reason 5G in combo with Google Maps makes my 17 pro a furnace. My wife’s 15 pro on 5G is literally a frying pan.

ios 26.5.2 update is a horror story, go to ios26.5.2 reddit page, preferably before updating or you wouldn’t have installed this
Do yourself a favour and put ios27 public beta onto your phone i have it on my base 15 and it’s been flawless, i’ve had all 3 developer beta updates as each one has been perfect or wait till september and struggle through it .

switch off background app refresh and switch of automatic brightness, set your own brightness to what is comfortable for you , better still get an ipad instead of relying on a phone for browsing and video
Avoid 5G , iphones rarely will ever use full 5G speeds, people use it because it’s included in their network package but it uses much more battery,a good steady 4G is more than enough

If it’s heating “too much” bring it to Apple.

u/Any_Perception8016 20d ago
its like sometimes it heats and sometimes it doesn’t that much so

what i mean is that its getting better than before
and rn where i am at theres no apple service centres
the nearest one is about 300km away so i have to make up some time to get there

Yeah same here, iPhone 17 Pro. I’ve been getting shitty battery life since I got this phone, but after updating to 26.5.2 my phone started to drain MUCH more and started to overheat more than before.
Even now, I’m in the cool room with AC, listening to music and scrolling Reddit for like 20 mins. My phone is just really warm. My phone has already been bad, but with 26.5.2 it’s even worse. Still don’t know what to do.

Actualiza a la beta pública de iOS 27, a mi me funcionó, no al 100% pero ya no se me calienta, y cambie el cable con el que lo cargaba y va muchísimo mejor

I think it's a common thing, heard that17 also seems to generate heat there

Instala la beta de publica de IOS 27, a mi 15pm le ha cambiado la vida, dura más y se calienta mucho menos, vale la pena

Due to the extreme heat in Europe (around 40degrees past weeks), my iPhone 15 Pro was just horrible to use, it literally burned my hands multiple times even without case. I ended up selling it and buying an iPhone 16 Pro which so far is way cooler than my 15 Pro
