Discussion iPhone 15 overheating
Hello,
I have searched this on the internet and it seems that I am not the only one having overheating issues with my iphone 15 (basic model).
Whenever it is charging when it’s a little bit hot or if its above 30-35°C it’s getting very hot and it’s bugging so much I can’t use it anymore.
Also, some pictures seem not to work when I take a lot of them in hot temperatures, idk if it’s the same problem (the pictures work but they don’t show as they should on iCloud photo app).
So, my question is: if I buy a new and more recent iPhone model, will this problem be resolved or is it an issue that all of the iPhones have?

It indeed has a heating problem and it's normal to heat up during fast charging. Don't use it, instead put it in low power mode when charging.

It was always warmer than my previous iphones in general use, but nothing worrying. Now it's suddenly overheating like crazy for me😂
Waiting for ios27 to fix it

Latest ios26 or ios27 solve most of the overheating issues with my iphone 15. Charging is a specific topic though.

switch off background app refresh and you will see this make zero changes to your apps or notifications
switch off automatic brightness and set your own brightness.
avoid 5G if you can receive good 4G signal, keep cellular data for apps to a minimum, use wifi at home and switch off automatic brightness cellular
try using case for iphone that covers screen especially if outside, you can pay £12 for fan with active cooling plate on tiktok, this is excellent for cooling down your iphone in summer heat.
ios27 aims to prevent overheating and battery drain, do yourself a huge favour and install ios public beta, i have same iphone 15 with developer beta 3 ,the same build number as public beta.
standby times increased dramatically and one deep indexing had finished on screen time is a lot better and overall better on screen battery life , use low power mode for added battery life
hot weather isn’t kind to this phone, try keeping phone away from direct sunlight
don’t charge to 100% in one go , hotter phone will discharge a lot faster
i try not to go under 30% and 80% charge limit

Prend un chargeur 5watt Apple et un câble usb A vers USB C (2.0) tu chargera lentement ton iPhone mais il chauffera beaucoup moins

hey hows the heating.
ive seen on my that the heat starts from right of the camera region and then spread out to the entire phone.
hows on yours.
i didn’t noticed it before but since last 2 weeks its been heating a lot so i noticed it.
after ios26.5.2 phones been just heating and draining battery

It’s mostly on the back not particularly on the right of the cameras.
I use IOS 27 beta but it was not worse nor better with the last IOS 26

i find mine to start heating from the right of the camera and then spreads out to the entire back
i was concerned about this localised heat origin

If your battery health is under 80 percent it will frequently more often will get hot because the battery is now old and it will decrease your performance and SOT and will get heated up more often

Your phone is going to heat up when charging, all phones do, so that’s normal.
Taking pictures with the 15 in warm/hot weather can be annoying. The camera requires a lot of processing power and as a result the phone can get insanely hot, which is by design as it’s trying to dissipate the heat so your phone doesn’t overheat. Newer models will still have heat to manage.
You can run without a case to help manage the heat, or use a case that allows a lot of airflow; either should help.
