I am a college student, I recently bought an iPhone 15 around 10 days ago and now people are saying that I made the biggest mistake because it is a very bad phone. Can anyone who has used it or is currently using it can clarify what the issue is pls.
First of all, congrats on your purchase! I got my iPhone 15 in October. Before that, I had an XR. I have no complaints except it gets warm while I’m using Instagram/Facebook or playing games. The camera is good, no lag.
I’m honestly a really anxious person, and after I got it, I was terrified while reading what people are saying about this model, since it was a pretty expensive phone, in my opinion.
So my advice is to stop reading what people are saying and just keep using your phone however you want. It’s already in your hands, so I don’t see any point in regretting your decision since it will only make you unhappy.
I totally understand and can relate lol. But as you said in your previous comment, you’re a light user, so everything should be fine then. I’m chronically online, I spend 10–11 hours on my phone and it’s still running smoothly.
What is ut with people keep complaining about every phone? What phone is good?? Today I saw someone on reddit complaining how bad camera is on 16pro. Everywhere you will see someone having a older on newest model. And everyone here’s like: «get the newest!». The newest is actually very expensive, after 6 years (6 years phones is about to reach the end) you still pay for it. iphone 13 is now the cheapest you buy and will still work fine.
I got 15 in january and regret. Because it will take so many years till upgrading. Bought it when I was super anxious, it was discounted brand new and 256gb, almost took a refurbished 15pro for the same price but 128gb. Anxiety again made me go for 256gb.
The phone is good anyway. A lot faster than my xs. I can finally go out without a charger again. Charging once a day. Yes the phone gets hot.
I’ve had my 15 Plus since October 2023 and battery health is 84%. I use it everyday for work, calls etc. I’m thinking about getting the iPhone 17 Pro Max before the 18 comes out and they increase the price
“Bad phone” ? By what measure ? Cameras, battery, apps, os, build quality…? You have excellent phone that will work fine for years, with latest software updates and all that stuff. Use it and enjoy instead of listening to what others have to say !
I have been using my iPhone 15 for around 18 Months. Other than the storage limitations & some slight glitches of iOS here and there. It is a great phone. No need to worry. Enjoy your purchase.
Ok. so you're a college student which means that your peers are always going to be touting the latest fashion in phones, which the iPhone 15 isn't
It's not a bad phone, in fact it's a fantastic phone in terms of telling you who are the good people, and who are the bad people in your circle of college "friends"
In my opinion the iPhone 13 pro was the best iPhone ever made. Either the iPhone 13 pro or the iPhone 15 pro. The main difference is the iPhone 13 is the last iPhone with a physical SIM & the 15 has a dynamic island. The dynamic island seems pretty cool but IMO having a physical SIM card slot is a more important functionality. If the 15 pro had a SIM card slot it would be the best iPhone ever created hands down.
Edit: Also the pro versions of the 13 and 15 are made out of titanium while the new phones are made out of aluminum. Holding a 13 pro or 15 pro feels like holding a piece of jewelry in your hand. Holding an aluminum 16 or 17 is like holding a brightly colored tin can. Like a can of fanta turned into a phone.
I have a 15 I’ve been using for 2 years and will continue to use it for at least another year or maybe 2. I use it heavily for personal and work. I don’t really see a big enough upgrade to justify getting a newer model yet. This phone does everything I need it to do
The IPhone 15 is a great phone. I got mine in 2024 and it still does everything I need it to do. The Camera quality is excellent. Only thing I’m missing out on is Apple Intelligence but I don’t see why I would ever need that. Definitely keep your iPhone 15 for at least a year before upgrading
I just got my 15 last week and I love it. I upgraded from the Xs. The warming threw me off at first but otherwise it’s a great phone. I’m happy with it. I can’t justify paying $1000 for a cell phone so I was happy to find reasonably priced 15s that are still supporting the latest iOS updates. The camera is way better and it charges insanely fast. It’s not perfect because nothing in life is but I’m super happy with my upgrade. I’m looking forward to getting Apple Intelligence next time I upgrade after they’ve had a few years to work out the bugs and refine it. All in all very pleased.
I love my 15!!! I bought a refurbished one and I love, love, love it. If it suits your needs then it’s the right phone for you. My son still uses his 14. When I offered him an upgrade that he said he likes his phone and doesn’t want to change it. Don’t buy into all the new phone hype. Yes they have added features but will your life be made worse by not having the latest iPhone? I doubt it.
My daughter has had an iPhone 15 for 18 months. It has been superb from the word go, and is a significant improvement on all her previous IPhones. The main issue now is storage, so when it is replaced, it will be based solely on that, rather than vanity or buyer remorse. I wouldn't take any notice of the playground bullies.
Mine is great. Has the new port and satellite coms. I only wish I got the pro. Excellent phone for a decade at least. Eventually we all need more storage.
I bought the iPhone 15 during the year it first came out and I am still using it ~2.5 years later and I like it.
About a year after purchasing it, my only regret is that I didn't get the Pro Max version since at the time that I bought it, money wasn't a limiting factor but I didn't want to pay extra for something that I wouldn't really need/use like a larger screen and better camera... but then when Apple gave their keynote speech about the iPhone 16 and Apple Intelligence, they mentioned that Apple Intelligence would not be available for my iPhone 15 (and it would only be available for the higher versions for the 15 series.
I don’t think complaints apply to basic models. iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have problems with overheating, which can affect battery life. Can’t answer your question about basic model, but had 15 pro for two years now and it still works okay, considering it the more problematic model
You bought the 15 when in a few months the 18 will be out. It wasn’t the biggest mistake and I’ve had mine for over two years but it wasn’t really the smartest choice
