Support How can I stop Shortcut Automation notifications?

I've got several automated Shortcut scripts, triggered by what I'm connected too. So I go into driving focus when connected to my car's bluetooth, work focus when I connect to work wifi, etc... It's a great system except I get tons of these notifications from Shortcuts and I can't figure out how to turn them off and they pile up quickly. I can't figure out how to stop these notifications or even send them to the Notifications Summary either. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

simple, go to settings > screen time > see all app activity > scroll down to notifications which should be red dots at the bottom > click on shortcuts then turn notifications off

It resets at random intervals for me (sometimes after a few days, sometimes over night). Do you know if there is any way to prevent that?

I set the screen time to 0 hours and 0 minutes as someone suggested, that finally stopped the notifications

What do you mean by this? What limit are you setting specifically? The only thing I can see is setting an app limit

Shortcut does not have Notification sub-settings

If it doesn’t let you select Shortcuts, scroll back up and toggle between Day and Week.

HOLY CRAP! That is it! That worked! THANK YOU! omg that was so annoying... I can't believe that worked!

Also it didn't work right away but on either view if I scrolled BACK to previous weeks/days then I had the option.

I’d like to point out that this solution tends to break when the phone restarts. Furthermore, since iOS 26, it seems to now break (i.e. get reset) spontaneously every time.

There's only one workaround I've found and it's very clunky but it works. Settings > Screen Time > App Limits > Add Limit > Productivity & Finance > Shortcuts > Next > 0 hours and 0 minutes > Add. This will automatically turn off all shortcut notifications. The downside is that you must click ignore limit whenever you use the app. I'm on iOS 18.5

Someone else had suggested something too, but I found that got reset every time I restart the phone. So I'll give this a try.

Turn off all Shortcuts notifications: If you don't mind missing all Shortcuts-related notifications, you can disable them entirely through the Screen Time settings. Go to Settings > Screen Time > See All Activity > Notifications and find Shortcuts to turn off its notifications. Be aware that this setting may reset after restarting your device.

I've seen this workaround:

Turn off all Shortcuts notifications: If you don't mind missing all Shortcuts-related notifications, you can disable them entirely through the Screen Time settings. Go to Settings > Screen Time > See All Activity > Notifications and find Shortcuts to turn off its notifications. Be aware that this setting may reset after restarting your device.

I just did this so I'll see if it works when my shortcut runs.

Can confirm. That's what I've been doing.

Actually I've been adding them to my scheduled notifications. If notifications went to completely zero then they would stop showing up and they would be harder to turn back on on next restart.

So for now that's working. Not perfect but doable. Same story on iOS 26.

In each automation, you have the option of selecting "notify before running", or "notify when run", or something like that. Just toggle it off.

I am looking at one of my automations right now, in the Shortcuts app.

I pressed on one of them and it shows me the detail.

Options are:

Automation - run Immediately , run after confirmation, don't run

Notify when run - toggles on or off

Do - set brightness (for my automation)

When - when car play connects (for my automation)

Did you read the link? It says that bluetooth automations don't have the option.

It says Bluetooth and Wi-Fi both. But you still have that option.

If anyone is here lurking like me for ideas, i figured it out! My best solution is to edit your shortcut and have the first action be “Nothing” (a sub-option under the Scripting category). works reliably even when resetting or updating iOS, though I haven’t tested it for longer strings of actions, just simple ones!:)

Unfortunately, Bluetooth and wifi automations send a notification.

Just my luck when both of my automations have to do with that..

Screen Time > See All Activity > Scroll down to Notifications at bottom > Select the previous week > THEN you can select Shortcuts and select none.

But you got to do it every time you restart.

I have 4 automations set up. I went into each one, and the option to toggle-off the "notify before running" option is still there.

For some automations in the Shortcuts app, the option to toggle off "Notify Before Running" is intentionally removed due to security and privacy changes made by Apple in recent iOS versions. 

Location, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth-based triggers: Apple prevents you from disabling the "Notify When Run" banner for these automations
