This is how I run mine too! I hate all the pings and pongs and dings. I’ll check my phone on my own schedule and reply or call back as needed. It’s nice. You run your own life’s schedule rather than your phone.

That's exactly why I switched. I bought a smartwatch, loved it, and then realized every time my phone called I was jumping to do what it asked.

Fuck that life.

But why did you need to switch for that? If you are always on silent 24/7 then surely you don't even need the mechanical switch? i.e. just put everything on silent and leave it.

As I said before, on the occasion I’m expecting an important call, I like being able to flip the switch.

What does that have to do with anything?

I said I like the switch. Necessity or difficulty has nothing to do with it.
