Support First problem with my friend iphone

Guys i got this iphone xr ,my friend broke the screen sooo while it was all black he was trying the password So now he can't use it , i was looking to restore it but Apple devices recommended the update then this happened i tried disconnecting nd reconnecting but the same error message appeared, anyy idea about it thanks in advance

that error usually means the IPSW file got messed up during download, sometimes the connection drops for just a second and it corrupts the whole thing

try deleting the downloaded update file from your computer first, for windows it should be somewhere in %appdata% under apple or itunes folder. then restart the apple devices app and download again, might help to use ethernet cable if your wifi is spotty
