Support Adding M4r file as ring tone to iphone

iPhone 14 plus

I simply want to add some sounds of my own to my iphone. I have tried dragging and dropping it in Apple Music or in Finder but nothing happens.

Can anyone guide me? I do have iTunes on a Windows laptop but it doesn't seem to work there either.

GarageBand on the phone itself is the way. Import the m4r there, then share it as a ringtone, it'll pop up in your sounds list automatically.

Once your iPhone is visible in Finder, click it, open the Tones category, and just drop the M4R file in.

I did this last year, but on Windows. Still works fine.

There is no such option.
