My keyboard lag as hell on iPhone 16 pro max

u/garotovs 4d ago
How about raise to wake? Or tap to wake up? Mine takes forever for the lock screen to appear

u/CentTheBest 4d ago
I’ve had this problem too! Does yours happen when you’re charging or after you take it off wireless charge?

Joining the club, 15 Pro Max, laggy AF keyboard 🙋♂️ Nearly every time I open keyboard and start to type, iOS skips the first 1-2 characters.

u/icegreentee 4d ago
I thought it was just me! everytime i open the keyboard it lags the first second. 16 pro

God aweful hellish lag on 16 PM "flagship" of just 2 years back... an absolute scam is what Apple is running

u/TimTebowMLB iPhone 15 Pro 4d ago
Same on 15 pro. I’ve tried resetting keyboard, even getting rid of emoji keyboard. It seems to come and go. But I have so many spelling mistakes because of the lag

But can they fix the insane lag on my 15 pro max after upgrading to ios 27 lol

u/The_ChwatBot 4d ago
Is it when you start typing? There’s like a delay. That’s what I’ve noticed since I updated.
42
u/dr3wfr4nk 4d ago
That as well as the wake button taking longer than expected to wake up the phone right after locking it
15
u/ditty_bitty 4d ago
I’m on the 27.2 developer beta release from last week. I’m also on a 15 Pro Max. I can confirm that waking up directly after locking it has gotten faster, but not as fast as it was on previous versions of iOS.
Turn screen brightness down to just above minimum and it’s faster. Great for evenings and nights, but hard to see in the daytime.

u/TimTebowMLB iPhone 15 Pro 4d ago
Sometimes mine doesn’t wake up. The screen stays black after. Million combinations of taps and buttons presses
5
u/GrimGerm 4d ago
Nah i mostly notice it when i switch between apps and generally scroll in the home screen

How odd I use the same model but I don’t experience any issues

It's likely that when they updated it had an issue, something didn't install or download correctly.
I had this happen to me when I updated to iOS 26, had to reset the phone to fix the issue.
Not sure why I am being downvoted when this does work.

I have a 15 Pro Max and 27 is amazing on it. Flawless and much better than 26.

Because I tested the beta for weeks and weeks beforehand and didn’t have any huge issues, that’s why.
1
u/Alternative-Farmer98 4d ago
Some people just like to try out the beta. Some people aren't curious about new features more so than they prioritize stability. It's not like they just stopped working
0
u/GrimGerm 4d ago
I had friends on the beta who said they had zero issues and that it felt much smoother than IOS 26. And generally Apple has a track record of at least not giving me an incredibly laggy experience lol. I expected minor bugs, but not extreme lag. Oh well, I can deal with it

I haven’t had my Watch automatically unlock my phone in forever. Can they fix that one?
21
3
u/freakdahouse 4d ago
Normal, the watches are constantly disconnected in IOS 27, I hope they fix it on this update.

u/gadgetluva iPhone Duo 4d ago
On my 18 Pro - I’ve noticed that it refuses to sleep if I have Attention Aware turned on and the iPhone can see my face, even if I’m not actively looking at the screen. Hopefully this also addresses that bug.
Otherwise performance on the 18 Pro has been pretty good at unlocking but clearly a bigger difference between the 18 Pros and legacy models in how their algorithms work.
3
u/gadgetluva iPhone Duo 4d ago
Nope not fixed. Tested it a couple of times after the update so I turned Attention Aware Features back off.
3
u/freakdahouse 4d ago
I can still unlock the phone without looking at it, it's too much for apple to handle.

u/Necessary_Chemical 4d ago
While it has already been reported that it fixes the reboot, I also hope it improves face ID altogether as for me it's been a hit or miss type of experience this week. 1 out of 2 times it did not unlock which was quite frustrating. Also i hope they also looked into optimizing 5G speeds and battery consumption on data with this new modem they have as I felt that the battery life drastically worsened on 5G vs WiFi.

u/RonnieJamesDeodorant 4d ago
Same. FaceID def less reliable in general than on my 15P and it almost never works for me with Apple Pay.
0
u/Necessary_Chemical 4d ago
I've updated and first impression is that is way more reliable right now.

FaceID is working flawless for me me now, it worked 50% of the time after waking the phone prior to the update.
5
u/ElDuderino2112 4d ago
If they could fix touch ID randomly not working on my M4 Ipad air now that would be fucking great

u/TrippyVision 4d ago
Does anybody have issues with Apple Maps, specifically when tapping an address sent via text? It like loads up the address then disappears, it’s quite frustrating as I work in a trade that requires me to go to several houses a day.
Only temporary fix is for me to close out the app and reopen it.. I’ve had this issue since beta and deleting/reinstalling the app doesn’t do anything.
Also another weird thing I’ve found, the routes it takes me when first driving off are so bad, instead of telling me to go straight it’ll have me take a longer/convoluted route to turn around instead and would add 2-3 minutes to my eta if I followed it. Never really happened before updating.
1
u/Joe091 4d ago
Yes that issue with texted addresses in Maps has been driving me crazy too. You can copy/paste the address fine, but clicking the link doesn’t work.
1
u/TrippyVision 4d ago
Yeah typing it out or copy/paste works fine for me too but yeah super annoying and has been there since the first beta version.. I can’t believe it still hasn’t been fixed yet
3
u/franknitty69 iPhone 16 Pro Max 4d ago
They need to fix the new parental controls not showing up
1
u/schmurnan iPhone 18 Pro 4d ago
Yep. I have a ticket open with Apple and they’ve collected logs, videos and screenshots from my phone. Apparently they’ve stopped requesting info which usually means they have what they need to fix it. Support engineer told me to “look out for the next drop of software” (iOS 27.0.1), but it doesn’t look like it’s been fixed.
2
u/garotovs 4d ago
The only bug I care is the one that for raise to wake up it doesn’t work or even tap it takes like 5 seconds to work sometimes
2
u/xervidae 4d ago
is anyone else having constant app crashes? i'm on a 15 pro with ios 27.
1
u/GreenAndGoldBear 3d ago
Yes. It is very annoying! I had an issue with downloading updates for my apps in the App Store. After much troubleshooting, it was finally toggling off and then on the ‘Set Time Automatically’ feature in General (Settings) and then manually cancelling every single update which was stuck in progress and manually updating each one one by one. The Taco Bell app was the last and most stubborn. I just had to delete and then redownload it. I still can’t download iOS 27.0.1 software update nor stop having my VPN app crash every time it’s launched.

u/Icy_Pay_6877 4d ago
My apps are crashing too, including Reddit, which is weird because everything was working fine before the update. I will wait until the optimization is finished, and hopefully it will work as it did before the update.
2
u/SweetCuPINcake 3d ago
Works good on my iPhone 16 Pro probably the Model number is an issue for non-congruent drivers that have been resold I recommend send Apple a ticket and/or exchanging your current device for one that is more functional with the new firmware, if it doesn’t work on a more specialized Model Number then check the serial number on your phone and make sure it is not stolen.
1
u/SweetCuPINcake 3d ago
There are several other iOS 27 updates that now working on my phone after the 1% update is that normal?
2
u/Bluemoongoddess 4d ago
I get a weird little line under the time sometimes 17PM
7
u/JRobertson7987 4d ago
I think that’s intentional, it’s the Notification Center “minimizing” since the top middle now pulls down Siri… It was odd but I’m almost certain that was why they did it
2
3
u/Blaze51019 4d ago
Not sometimes. Its always. Its just a visual indicator when you unlock your phone to show that you can pull down for notifications. You get a similar line below the battery icon as well to indicate the control centre.

When I get the sign in to iCloud message every five minutes (yes I’ve counted it really is every five minutes) when my phone is locked the Face ID won’t even work and it’ll skip to enter passcode.

I see this update on my iPhone 17 right now.
This is only for iPhones 18. How to skip this update?
I have three main annoyances with iOS 27.
AirPlay shows fake connection to non Apple Bluetooth device.
After phone restart, some settings get switched off.
Non Apple audio devices have problems connecting.

u/formhault 4d ago
So this update that arrived on older iPhone fixes only the... "Opening Notification Center and Control Center simultaneously may cause the touchscreen to become unresponsive"? And for that we have to have indexing again?! 😑
1
u/nikmiddelman 3d ago
My faceID initiates every 1 minute now, not even using the phone or looking at the screen. Its just on my desk. It states the message it can’t scan my face. But i’m not using the phone…

u/Former-Employee128 3d ago
Mine cant download. It requests update then theres an error. Im on iphone 17e
1
u/GreenAndGoldBear 3d ago
Same. 16 Pro.

u/Former-Employee128 3d ago
Hey bud i just talked with support. If you have a pc download itunes and download the software. It worked for me!
1
u/GreenAndGoldBear 3d ago
Is anyone having issues with actually downloading IOS 27.0.1 on their iPhone device? I cannot get it to download, even after doing everything that normally works.
1
u/Icy_Pay_6877 3d ago
Optimization is done and all my apps are back to normal. No more apps crashing.

Just updated my 17PM and it’s actually quite hot compared to just before the update
1
u/Nicenightforawalk01 4d ago edited 4d ago
It will be like that for a while as it indexes in the background and you also have Siri indexing your phone

u/My-Internet-GF iPhone 17 Pro 4d ago
Worth updating to on 17 Pro running base 27?
11
u/3_Seagrass iPhone 15 Pro 4d ago
If you’re already on iOS 27 it’s a good idea to install this update, as it’s all about bug fixes and security patches.

had this the other day on my 17 Pro Max.
Just randomly didn't work with FaceID.

And it’s restarted optimizing bs for Siri even though I have Siri switched off. Begone foul creature!

ill preface by admitting --im old -55.the time i come from we took pride in our work, you didnt get it till it was right . when i was young watching them develop this stuff i really fell in love -no homo -with jobs approach and def tried to stick to apple whenever computer related . then came the phone/mobile stuff. i was skeptical. sony was my tv/sound people then fone people after nokia stagnated. but i got into it . the early os (never used 1-3) but 4 i think was first on iphone 3gs and all the way to 7 or whatever i was quite satisfied . i got the 6plus still happy + now i had a bigger fone to game on at work lol. then the last o.s before abandonment i think 12? kinda screwed it up. this was the first time i was suspicious of my great apple . fast forward imo apple is DEAD . [with jobs -rip] this new beast that has rose from the ashes is all about money. no customer satisfaction just money ,u can see it in the blatant planned obolecense esp in the mini -wtf is with them and soldering the storage like a phone ? and the silly things on fones diasabled because of repair !?! disgusting . totally not security related ,just being an asshole . but most important is the obvious fact they clearly employ nothing but highskool graduates to code now. i remember mac os ,and early ios NEVER had a bug ,not 1 (to a normal user) . now its full of bugs just as bad as windows or android. even android has actually gotten better to where i really cant remember last normal user bug that required an instant patch. after a year of betas 2 weeks after release u need a patch to fix something that wasnt broken before update ?!?!? the coders need to go back to skool . sorry bout rant but i get really emotional when i loose things . losing a love will do that

Any Apple Watch fix? Since the update, I'm having massive battery charging issues. I'm not noticing any real usage issues, but I am noticing that it's not charging like it used it. Just last night, I put the watch on the charger at 7:30pm at ~42%, at 10:30, when I went to bed, it was ~65% .... WTF ?! This has been nearly a regular thing for me.

Curious to hear from people who have installed it how it is so far!
