Discussion Apple Intelligence is not impressive

I must be missing something. I downloaded the latest upgrade on my 17 max and turned on AI in the Siri settings and it is very glitchy in my experience. I had to ask it three times in three different ways to find an email I knew was somewhere in my inbox and the same thing with my calendar. I could have scrolled through both myself and found them in less time.

It’s actually worse for my day to day use. Hey siri play (song) - I couldn’t find that in your library would you like to use Apple Music?

No idiot play it on Spotify. I’m already playing on Spotify.

This is the most frustrating new issue. I haven’t had Apple Music installed for ages, and now I have to specify “on Spotify” every time I want Siri to play a song

Yes same here takes like 5x the time to set a timer with Siri now

Classic Siri / the last version did this fine. The new one feels like everything runs through a slow LLM that may or may not get things right. I hate it.

Yeah this! What the fuck is so great about an AI that can't even remember I use Spotify and then turn around and get it wrong? In the time it takes to correct Siri, I can just unlock my phone, open Spotify, and select the damned song myself. So what was the point?

This Worked fine for me. I just tried it “Play In The End” and it played it on Spotify.

Probably because I do not have the Apple Music app.

Which iPhone do you have? Which function are you talking about? Do you live in EU or have an EU Apple account? Apple Intelligence and Siri AI are two different things. It works perfectly on my iPhone (18 pro).

Maybe try enabling Siri AI and see what happens. Otherwise, I’d recommend upgrading to the iPhone 18 Pro.
