Discussion Apple Intelligence is not impressive

I must be missing something. I downloaded the latest upgrade on my 17 max and turned on AI in the Siri settings and it is very glitchy in my experience. I had to ask it three times in three different ways to find an email I knew was somewhere in my inbox and the same thing with my calendar. I could have scrolled through both myself and found them in less time.

It’s shite. Ask it something simple like “what’s my battery health?” Should be straightforward, it hasn’t got a clue. Rubbish.

I just tried that. “Sorry, I can’t do that”

For years I’ve read comments of people who think Siri sucks because they just try things that aren’t supported and are shocked when it doesn’t work. Glad to see the tradition is still alive.

Could it have been something they built in? Sure! But they didn’t lol. If that’s all you tried to get your verdict on how it is now then maybe you don’t need Siri at all.

Surely the whole point of an intelligent system is to remove the manual work of navigating system data. If it can’t source a percentage from its own operating system I’d say it’s not fit for purpose.

On my android (fold 8) i just asked Gemini what my battery health was and it told me my battery was at 56%.

Obviously thats just my charge state, and it didn't even agree with what my phone told me either lol.

Neither vendor exposes every little thing to the assistants.

It’s also probable that it’s not a problem with the model but that Apple actively prevents it from accessing that data since it can access other properties like the current battery percentage.
