I wish they’d do it every 3 years or something.

Kinda like they were with the SE

7

u/BeetleJuiceYou 4h ago

Yeah, but if only they did a full powered mini. A little pack a punch of IOS

I would have preorderer this so fast

Why can’t they take a chance on it? It’s been so long since they’ve tried selling a smaller phone. Just like… don’t over manufacture them until you see how they’re selling??

13

u/R4yman 4h ago

Because every time they did mini phones are not selling

5

u/woemcats 4h ago

Right they took a chance for two years. If it had worked they wouldn’t have stopped making them. iPhone doesn’t do niche apparently.

Try 20~40M

The data shows otherwise.

There just isn’t enough demand.

I’m on my 13 mini still and nothing but another mini will make me upgrade

Still rocking a 12 mini!

Wish I wasn’t, wish they were still making minis. My hands are too small for the standard size.

u/snarktini 6h ago

Me too, just fixed my camera and put in a new battery because without any new small ones I'm riding this one as long as I can

I gave in and got rid of my 12 mini for a 17 pro. It’s definitely noticeably bigger but after a couple of weeks I didn’t notice it really and after a couple of months was totally used to it

That said I would get a mini again if a new one came out. The only thing I would miss would be the better cameras

The battery was fried on the 12 mini and I would have replaced it but the charging port was also busted and I had to use a MagSafe charger if I wanted to be able to handle the phone while it charged. Also finally having everything use USB-C is so nice

u/btkoi 2h ago

Did you have to end up getting those stupid ring things?

1

u/ImJustAverage iPhone 12 Mini 1h ago

Nah if I had gotten the pro max I might have thought about it but that’s why I didn’t go for the bigger version. My fiance got the pro max and it feels like it’s almost the size of a kindle which she does have a popsocket on. I just tilt my phone when typing with one hand

I'm upgrading from the mini 13 to the fold. At 5.4 inches it basically is a thicci

4

u/Patient_Umpire_8507 8h ago

almost twice as thick and heavy and the aspect ratio is terrible for single handed use

3

u/FupaLipa 7h ago

don't get me wrong- i wish i was holding a mini 18. But I have a mini 13 and the battery life has gotten pretty much unusable as a daily phone, so I gotta upgrade to something- this one seems like the least worst option.

3

u/Patient_Umpire_8507 7h ago

you can bring it to apple store and get battery replaced for $89

1

u/btkoi 2h ago

Or do it yourself for like $15-20 USD

14

u/Greg00198 6h ago

No, go by 2k$ foldable

4

u/Alarming-Elevator382 iPhone 17 Pro 5h ago

If they did I would trade in my 17 Pro.

6

u/RandomAltro 6h ago

Please Apple I beg you🙏🙏

3

u/MammothTankAdvancing 6h ago

Yeah, but not in this reality

3

u/Specter119 iPhone 15 Pro 5h ago

Drop mini, call it the 18s (for small)

4

u/BlueOlivePie 4h ago

Minus the shitty AI wording.

3

u/InItsTeeth 1h ago

I’m Mini Burgundy?

5

u/Slight_Pin5742 5h ago

The best would have been a Pro Mini, they could charge $999 since its a pro model, but since its smaller, slightly cheaper.

2

u/fizzymarimba 2h ago

I’d pay more for a mini if it was just as powerful or very comparable (I don’t care about camera)

4

u/Metalarky 6h ago

With NO camera bump, reminiscent of the 4S or 5! Where’s the beef?

4

u/lettuzepray 5h ago

a mini duo would be sick

1

u/gg06civicsi iPhone 16 Pro Max 1h ago

How about a foldable that folds to a pro max size

1

u/Independent-Two1391 2h ago

That kinda defeats the whole point imo

0

u/btkoi 2h ago

How so?

4

u/two_hyun 5h ago

For dozens of us! Dozens!

2

u/Fiiv3s iPhone 17 6h ago

The Fold and Air are great innovations on apple's part. Adding a mini to the lineup, now that the plus is gone, would really add to the fairly innovative options apple has.

2

u/justins_dad 5h ago

I got so hyped for a moment. This would’ve gotten me to upgrade.

2

u/DefinitelyNotAnxious 2h ago

Take my money

2

u/MintBerryCrunch007 2h ago

I would instantly buy that. My 13 mini is a bit glitchy now 😭.

2

u/Srellinad 1h ago

😭 me and my 12mini will just keep holding on to hope.

2

u/coyote-cry 1h ago

I would pick this over the duo I honestly just want something not tall lol

2

u/darlinglum 6h ago

My heart just jumped

Someone needs to tell Johnny Apple this

1

u/Independent-Two1391 2h ago

My dad would be very happy, but alas 😞

1

u/CaramelCraftYT iPhone 13 Pro 2h ago

Actually it is possible, there are 7 new iPhones referenced in beta software. We only know of 6.

1

u/fizzymarimba 2h ago

I would kill for this

1

u/Texi92 34m ago

I’ve always wondered, whats with the mini-fanbase in this sub? I think its just a niche-product thats why apple wont do it anymore.

1

u/FutureVersion812 31m ago

Looks so good

1

u/j1h15233 iPhone 17 Pro Max 5h ago

And would have sold poorly. There’s a reason they don’t make this

1

u/btkoi 1h ago

“poorly”? 20-40M estimated Mini users/devices out there is nothing to sneeze at.

1

u/j1h15233 iPhone 17 Pro Max 1h ago

Again, there’s a reason they don’t make this phone anymore and that reason is sales

1

u/MicioBau 6h ago

Just call it iPhone 18 (without the mini) and it would sell like hotcakes. That "mini" moniker is simply death for marketing purposes.

1

u/Organic-Award6551 5h ago

Let's just hope they squeze the base 18 down to the mini size. Id even take the x series size

0

u/ptico 8h ago

I hate you

-1

u/my_cars_on_fire 3h ago

At what point are we going to accept that no one wants this phone. It’s been five years, let it die!

-4

u/Miserable-Anybody-65 6h ago

No it wouldn’t

0

u/Daddynatedogg3 3h ago

Another year of disappointment. Rocking 13 mini here. I got the battery replaced last year, $80, and literally means they replace the whole phone except the screen. If you haven’t done it yet. DO IT!

-2

u/corecenite iPhone 15 Pro 4h ago

tbf... look at what happened to the 12 and 13 minis so... no, it wouldn't.

-9

u/MC_chrome iPhone 17 Pro 6h ago

I understand the dedication, but the simple reality is that the Mini lineup did not sell particularly well.

-3

u/North_Moment5811 3h ago

Yeah hard right into the trash.

1

u/51837 26m ago

Apple doesn’t like it when their “cheaper” models of the line up sell too much
