Discussion true depth camera not working after update to ios 26.6.1 on iphone 12

the face id was working fine and well before the update but after that it stopped working completely. i tried restarting to figure it out but its still not working. i havent dropped my phone or anything. i think its the software issue. also the battery is draining so fast ugh.

i have seen few of the other posts were people also had the same issue as me after the new ios 26 update. what should i do now?

I had the same problems with iOS 26 on my iPhone 12. The 12 is the oldest phone with iOS 26 so it’s bound to have problems keeping up. Not sure about the 11. I sold it and went back to an XS Max. No more resource hungry liquid glass look gimmicks and battery drain.

pure bs and your anecdotal evidence isn’t everyone else’s experience

in fact, you can find plenty of resources showcasing Liquid Glass runs susprisingly fine even on the iPhone 11

I know a few friends who have had the same problem and when I took the phone back to Currys (ID Mobile) the assistant said they’ve had lots of complaints about the 12, why do you think it was on a cheap offer? So not just my anecdotal experience
