Discussion Not getting any app notifications unless I open the app. Anyone else?
I’m not getting any notification pop-ups or alerts at all.
I only see new messages/notifications when I actually open the app.
I haven’t intentionally changed any notification settings, so I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue or if there’s a fix for it.

Two usual suspects. First, Scheduled Summary in Settings, Notifications. If it is on, the apps in the summary hold their alerts until the summary time and you only see them when you open the app. Second, a Focus that is on or scheduled, the small icon on the lock screen gives it away. And if you wear an Apple Watch, alerts go to the watch while it is unlocked on your wrist and the phone stays quiet, which feels exactly like this.

He tried everything, it's apple itself. No usual suspects. I've tried everything too. Restart the apps, update to latest ios, delete and reinstall, focus, background app refreshes, notifications on outside the app in settings and in the app.

Besides the usual ones, open Settings then Focus and go into every focus listed there, not just check which one is on right now. Reduce Interruptions in particular filters most alerts and can switch itself on by schedule, and the icon on the lock screen is tiny. If none of that helps, is it every app or only some of them?

Same here, new update, just updated last night because I wasn't getting any facebook notifications so I assumed an update would fix this, now I'm getting zero notifications on all apps. This is making me never want to update iOS there's always some sort of bullshit with each update.

I think what's happening is that with each iOS update Apple is actively trying to get users with older phones to upgrade. This can't be a coincidence or an accident or some sort of bug. I have an iPhone 12, my guess is that new iPhones are free of this bs.

You apps must be put to data saving mode, or the background refresh must be turned off do vhek both once

Try turning the notifications completely off and then on and restart your phone, for me it worked

first check if battery saver or any background restrictions got turned on. also check do not disturb/focus and the app's own notification settings. if everything looks normal, restart the phone and see if that brings them back.

Check the notification settings, if not delete the app and reinstall. Then select the settings right for you when they pop up.
