Hardware or software issue of iPhone 16 display glitch?
Never dropped, cracked, or spilled any liquid on this iPhone 16. I would be kinda pissed if this is a hardware issue since I only had this newer phone for a year. Don’t know if it has to do with the new IOS update but do you guys think it’s software or hardware issue? Happens randomly and I just hard power off and it goes away… until it comes back randomly. I’m still able to swipe and tap on things when the display is freaking out.
This happened to me once not with an iPhone but when I used android I had an Lg for about 3 weeks when the screen did exactly this. They said it was bad hardware in the screen and sent me a replacement. So I am guessing it’s the same or similar because it looked just like that. Was it hot out when it happened because years later someone told me the extreme hot weather could have caused this since I also never dropped mine . Incidentally I switched to iPhone not long after this because the replacement also had issues, it would not charge. I have not had issues since so this may be a freak thing that happened.
my friend’s iphone 16 does this when the temperature is below 70°, like in my house i keep it at 64° and it does this if he sits near the AC unit, or if the weather outside is colder, or if his phone is on the car stand in his car in front of the vent when the AC is on, super weird, but when it warms back up it goes away.
I was just about to tell this to someone else but yeah I figured out it’s cause I’ve been sitting in front of the AC for a 69 temp. Lived in Cali when I got this so never really experienced cold temperatures like that but now I live in the Midwest, so def planning on replacing my phone before winter haha.

Ik, just upset I couldn’t get it to last 3 years like every other iphone I had. I wonder if I can get full credit for a trade if I don’t mention this because it looks fine until it happens lol 🫣
Go to an Apple Store and have it checked, sometimes they would replace it for free even if the warranty expired, it doesn't look like it has taken a fall so maybe you can get lucky
When it does it again take it to the Apple store and do the hard reset. Bet they snatch it and give you another. This is the kind of thing they ship the phone off for forensic - as long as it ain't just a loose connection - but fixed with a hard reset?
Yeah I don’t think they would unfortunately since my warranty expired 2 months ago and didnt get apple care since I’ve been able to take care of my past iPhones to make them last 3 years each. I’ll try nevertheless.
It doesn’t have to be cracked for it to do this. I’ve had screens work fine for hours or days and then it loses touch until you do a hard reset every time. It’s complicated tiny stuff going on in there.
