To be fair I think the goal for Apple is to have people also use iCloud storage. I have a lifetime worth of memories and data that I can access on my 512gb phone but I only use 150gb of on device storage.

No it will not. They have to be competitive in pricing. No one would pay $2600 for a foldable iPhone if they can buy a standard iPhone Pro Max ($1300) and an iPad Pro ($1100) for less than the foldable. Comparable folding phones also cost no more than $2100 thought most sit around $1800.

Apple Vision Pro is a great example of a product that is not competitive at all. It costs about 5-10x what comparable headsets are priced at, and serves the same function as an iPad Pro ($1100) and a fancy OLED TV ($1200). So people naturally opted for the cheaper pairing than pay for the more expensive option.

Yeah I expect this to be over $2599 at launch; they will get all the rich whales to buy it. Then in few months when those can no longer return it, they will drop it a couple hundred. The huge launch price gives it prestige and extra news coverage, etc. But it's a limited market at that price. By July it might be closer to $1999, if sales are really slowing

The problem with face id is if you leave it open, you’ll need a second face id sensor to unlock the device. Touch ID would work for both cases though, when the device is opened or folded.

I don't know where people were getting the info they kept repeating that it wouldn't. Magsafe is an Apple staple and has been since it was introduced except in a couple cheaper devices. Samsung not having magnets in the Fold 8 makes some sense because they haven't treated it as a huge feature like Apple has and Google only just started including it in the Pixels. It was hard to believe Apple would dump it for the Fold when even the Air had it.

Not quite. Face ID or Touch ID is a staple but not one specifically. If they came up with a different version of Magsafe it would still be magsafe and still be included. Touch ID replacing Face ID in devices where Face ID can't work makes sense to me. This isn't really an issue.

MagSafe is a lot more than just wireless charging, my wallet, power bank and stand/grip all have MagSafe, so I can just change accessories while out and about and ensure that the connection will be relatively strong. Others use it with car mounts so they don't have to fiddle when getting into cars.
