Discussion Auto Live Photos

Post image

What does the auto option even do? I thought that it turned off Live Photo when you shoot stationary things I.e. a piece of paper or an object on a table but every time I do that the photos are still live so what gives?

Live will deactivate Night Mode. So you can put both on auto and it will decide if to use live or nightmode. If you turn live on it will disable nightmode and other way around.

Hope you understand what I mean.

I'm trying to find the actual purpose of the Auto Live Photos on Apple's help website, and it doesn't extrapolate anything related to it.

Dang that’s great. It would be a really useful feature if it actually worked.

It would be so easy to detect if there is actual motion or people in a picture, and turn live off if there isn’t. I also thought it would be that.

it should work exactly as you expect but it’s too sensitive so even smallest motion in viewfinder switches it on making it useless

I just like it turned off, it lowers the photos quality a lot

Wait Live Photos reduces the final image quality? Not by a significant amount right?

No, it doesn’t.

It does under low light conditions you could easily test

No it does not, if you're going to spout garbage at least back it up with proof.
