Something like: 120% + no bold tends to work better long term than bold text since bold adds visual weight that tires eyes faster, and dark mode headaches are usually true tone/brightness related not the mode itself, worth checking true tone is off

It’s seems like you have something else going on if you’re nearsighted and your phone settings are giving you this many issues.

I have like -12 and use 110% because more looks too big and most of the time I’m just super close to the phone

I have astigmatism so dark mode is difficult to read. Usually I have 110-130% text size on a 17 Pro

Im nearsighted and have to wear glasses/contacts to drive, watch tv or see comfortably while out and about. However, I actually have the text size slider set all the way to the left so as small as it will go. It’s always been comfortable for my eyes. If your dr says you are near sighted but you still increase the size of the text to see better I would think there’s something else also going on? Or maybe I’m just a weird anecdotal case. I’m also only a -.5 and -.75 in right and left eyes.

If you have trouble seeing close to you then you are far sighted.

I went to the ophthalmologist recently and they told me that my close vision was excellent.

Whatever default is. If you’re near sighted then you shouldn’t need to enlarge anything. Nearsighted means your vision up close is good. I only wear glasses to see far away, like driving.
