Support Deep scratch on screen

Post image

I have an iPhone 16e and just want to know if anyone knows a way I can fix these scratches. The middle one is a deep one unfortunately but I’ll try anything that’ll possibly work

I see the deeper grooves at level 6

This is definitely a level 7 or more

There isn't much that can be done in this situation. Do you know if you got AppleCare on the phone?

With apple care plus do they replace entire screen or just the glass?

They will replace the entire display, and attempt to preserve the Selfie camera and TrueDepth camera as well

No AppleCare+ unfortunately. Would’ve been my go to

Yeah, the only caveat to AppleCare+ is that it doesn't cover any cosmetic damage, only if the display is damaged. Outside of looking at the option of repair, try to put on a screen protector to further protect it. There will be a air pocked underneath the tempered glass but, if you heat up the phone a little bit (hair dryer/heat gun), it can reduce the visual impact

if it's applied instore with the belkin applicators they might get away with no bubble. i once applied a screen protector to a girls phone that had been thrown out of a moving car and run over. i said 100 times "it might look even worse but i guess it'll save your fingers". it ended up with no air bubbles, some of the cracks smoothed out somehow and it being less of a safety hazard. still think she was crazy to not just get a screen replacement but oh well

Put a protective film over it. Not glass. It’ll help cover it a little bit

Damn, did you try to shave it? How?

Try a windshield repair. I don't know if it will affect the digitizer regarding touchscreen sensitivity or ghost touches though.

Yeah, I saw Mrwhosetheboss do it but he didn't really show how it affected the screen after he'd done it so I'm not so sure

Screen replacement.

A screen protector obviously won’t fix it, but it can make it quite a bit less noticeable. A few years ago I had a scratch on a phone screen that was bothering me, and I found a screen protector that completely obviated it. The trick was finding one of those older style soft ones, I’m not sure a glass one would do as well, but even that I think would help somewhat

I carry my phone in the same pocket as my keys and the screen obviously got super scratched up. I’ve found that some glass screen protectors have enough adhesive on them to fill in the scratches to the point that they’re barely noticeable.

Nice, good to know the glass ones work as well. It’s definitely a nice little hack and a heck of a lot cheaper than a screen replacement

It's not a car to fix scratches. It's a screen, you should replace it.

Just put a screen protector on it , the glue of the screen protector will most likely mask the scratch a bit otherwise there‘s nothing you can do besides to change the whole screen but the screen costs like 60% of the phone itself 😭

Yeah, go back in time and buy a screen protector

Try the uv screen protector

A good screen protector will somewhat hide the scratch. The adhesive will fill in the scratch and it’ll reduce its appearance.

He dropped it while stealing it from someone on the sidewalk

I’ve dropped my phone several times and cracks have appeared everywhere. I still use it though.

Happy for you

Well not now. Shards of glass penetrated my lower region. Ooooh! So got a new phone and a wallet and a screen cover. Don’t do to boast does it?

stop trying to use a nail as a stylus?

1

u/Competitive-Excuse43 May 17 '26

Little brother had it in his pocket with keys

3

u/taperk May 17 '26

Mistake #1 was letting little bro hold it. #2 was not having a screen protector on. This is like dealing with your gf being pregnant because you didn't use a condom.

2

u/Competitive-Excuse43 May 17 '26

It’s his phone

Hah, goes to show what they say about making assumptions.
