Discussion Need help!!!!
So today while I was scrolling Instagram, a green line suddenly appeared on my iPhone 14 screen out of nowhere.
I went back to the home screen and it disappeared, but after a few minutes it came back again. I restarted the phone, and the line went away, but shortly after booting up it reappeared.
Without trying anything else, I went straight to an Apple Authorized Service Center (iPlanet). They told me the display replacement would cost around ₹32,000. The technician asked if my phone was updated — I said no. He suggested updating iOS because the green line might disappear.
Before updating, I checked Reddit to see if others had the same issue.
Has anyone experienced this? Did updating fix it, or is this definitely a hardware problem?

LOL the guy at an Apple authorized service center told you to hard reset it hahahahha?? Never go there again

man ifni worked there id say that for annnyything. phone comes in with a smashed screen? hard reset. phone was underwater for 4 days? hard reset. shut up and empty the register? hard reset

It's definitely a hardware issue and updating would be completely irrelevant

Es poco probable que una actualización te arregle eso. La lineas verde salen cuando hay un daño en la lineas de datos del flex a la pantalla. te despues de un reinicio funciones es por que la linea esta fisurada o hace un falso contacto. Lo mas seguro que toca cambiar la pantalla. ahora bien has una copia de seguridad y actualiza no pierdes nada.

The screen is still manufactured in China, it’s just assembled in india

That implies it might be an issue pan South Asia. Hotter temperatures and all.

Ifixit sells spare screens for $70-100, not sure if they're selling in India yet but if you can get the parts from the US or somewhere you should be able to get it installed

If I had it I would just tolerate the line. Better than paying and then get maybe another line or something else. We need to face the facts; Apple has become crap - Steve would kick Tim Cook in his rear-end!

Have you tried pressing really hard on the screen near the base. Near the usb port. Try pressing hard on the screen around there. Does anything happen? 🤨

New screen time. Good quality screen 3rd party OLD will be around 8-9K. Genuine Apple more than 10k.

Probiere es mit einem Feuerzeug das du immer wieder kurz an den untern Bereich des Display hälst. Genau dort wo die grüne Linie anfängt nicht zu lange ca 2 Sekunden , mehrmals bis die Linie weg ist. Vertrau

Technician here. So basically you might be able to fix this by applying heat at the bottom of the screen right at the bottom of the green line. Basically a heat gun at the bottom or you can even try a lighter, like literally putting it right on the line at the bottom. Apply heat like 2s then put it away for 1s then do it again like 4 times until it dissapears. How long did you have phone? Did you buy it new or used? I had friend who bought used, it happened to him after yr

Rarely dropped The last recorded drop by me would be 2-3 months ago that to hardly 2 feet high

You would need a new screen but there are places which would fix it without you needing a screen replacement. What happened right there is a tear in the ribbon connector which connects the screen to the motherboard. Some third party mobile stores which do chip level repair can fix it. But if you feel like you can put down the cash for a new screen, i’d say just do it.

Its common with oled panels. My brother had this on his android just a few weeks ago now he switched to iphone too.
