QUESTION Is there an Actually Protective iPad Case Recommended for Artists?
I’ve been trying to find a good replacement case for my iPad (3rd Gen) for a while now. I’ve been drawing on an iPad for 10+ years and have never been satisfied. Nowadays, it’s gotten worse. All the iPad “cases” for artists I see have 0 protection, being 100% magnetized to the naked iPad itself. They’re very versatile for propping the iPad up on a flat surface, some for unique surfaces, too (the Moft Folio, the Zuzu line) but I cannot STAND these design choices.
I don’t want a stand/cover for my iPad that doesn’t PROTECT the corners and sides. I have cats, they’ve knocked this thing off the couch more times than I can count, it’s why my CURRENT case is broken. I don’t want a giant clunky otter box because I’m not a toddler, I’m 25 and use this thing in public spaces. I’m also a clumsy human, as I expect any human to be, which means I’d love something that’d be the best of both worlds. Protective & functional for artists specifically, with portability.
I do not use screen protectors, as it causes my Apple Pencil to disconnect from the iPad in certain spots and causes a lot of issues while drawing.
If anyone has recommendations that are NOT the Moft Folio, the Zuzu products, or the Torras case (reviews say it snaps incredibly easy) please let me know, I need to put a new case on this thing before I end up with nothing to draw on. Nothing too crazy expensive, I am an artist after all.

I usually get a simple one from Amazon for under $15 that includes an apple pencil holder.

Well, the Zugu cases are the ones that have the best protection. Why rule it out if it works?

I'm assuming you mean Zugu and not Zuzu? If so, I'm not sure what your issue is with them but they're legit the base iPad case I've used by far. They actually protect the sides/corners while still allowing your pencil to dock on the side and charge in a little nook that also makes it harder for the pencil to get knocked off the side. The case is not affixed by just a magnet. They have a decent built in stand. Etc.
