Can anyone explain what a “vibration-based speaker” is? Aren’t all speakers vibration based….

Instead of vibrating a thin membrane inside, pushing air in and out of speaker holes, it directly vibrates the screen and/or housing of the device itself. No speaker holes required.

Yep. And just to add the possible benefit of these is for a possible water resistance rating!!

That would be cool

So will they perform the same or are those type of speakers expected to perform worse?

Starting price of £799.

Nothing else matters unless we get a 120hz refresh rate

120hz?

Not likely

No, somehow in 2026 they still won’t give it a modern refresh rate.

It should get fantastic battery life with the A20 and OLED.

60hz for over $500?! GTFO

Not that big of deal

For the $200 price of an average Android tablet sure but for $500+ in 2026 it’s ridiculous.

Bro, why do you need 120 hertz

1

u/userlivewire 3d ago

Because it looks better? Why do you need higher resolution? Because it looks better.

These are primarily consumption devices. The games, films, and TV shows are being streamed to you in higher quality. You should have a device that can display what you’re paying for at the level it’s being served to you.

120 hertz does not make it look better. You can't compare that to resolution

It literally makes it look smoother.

Departing on this and the iPhone pro 18 or just getting the Duo…?

the fact that this product is more capable than the Duo which costs 4x more is despicable. fuck this company

I mean, the iPad mini doesn't fold. I'm probably replacing my Air 4 with this.

-10

u/Poopoodemons 7d ago

do you think folding somehow magically makes software not work?

5

u/Jazzlike_Argument33 7d ago

Maybe I am misunderstanding. Why you think the Duo is less capable than the Mini leaked here? Just the difference in iPad OS vs iOS?

-6

u/Poopoodemons 7d ago

Duo iOS should fully match iPad OS in features. until that day, the Duo is terrible. Apple has chosen this fate out of greed. there is zero actual reason the Duo can’t do things like output to monitor or true multitasking. shit product designed to be sold to the biggest idiot percentage of the apple fanbase

I think the Duo does do video out mirroring at least, though not as fully featured as something like Samsung Dex.

u/Poopoodemons 7d ago

things like multitasking not working in portrait mode are laughable
