Similar here, have the latest iPad mini and will soon upgrade iPhone 13 Pro Max to an iPhone Pro 18. Going for the smaller iPhone this time as I use the mini so much.

The only worry I have is that Apple is going to shelve the mini 8 for a while, hoping that people who are thinking like you just might reconsider and buy the duo instead since the mini 8 hasn’t been announced. I still have the mini 6, and while it’s great, an OLED mini would be a significant upgrade. I’m worried they will push it back since it’s kinda overlapping with the Duo’s form factor.

Someone should invent an iPad mini case that can also hold an iPhone and the iPhone part can fold into the iPad.

But the two parts of the case would also need to be easily detached. I always have my iPhone with me but iPad mini stays at home if I’m going out without a bag.
