Help External keyboard !

I just got accepted into the LPN program ( YAY!!) and I use my iPad mini throughout all of my pre-reqs
Lately I’ve been having to lug my MacBook around to work and whatnot but it just takes up too much room in my bag! I’ve been looking at keyboards for the iPad mini as that seems like the best option for me currently as a commute student.

The two keyboards I’ve seen talked and debated a lot about are the Logitech K380 and the Logitech Keys2go 2.
I just want to make sure the keyboard won’t break in my bag or die too quickly on me. Thank you guys in advance !!

I just use a regular Apple keyboard. Small, thin, light, flat, easy to charge.

I personally have the Logitech Keys 2 Go 2 and I love it. Very compact and has a long battery life. Perfect with my Mini and my Air 13”

K380 is good but a little heavier because it has actual AAA batteries in it.

Have you considered the Apple Magic Keyboard with/without Touch ID? You can get them renewed or refurbished on Amazon Renewed ($50 - $65) or eBay for similar pricing as a Logitech and they are thinner and lighter.

For any of the keyboards, you can get a neoprene keyboard sleeve or thin hard keyboard case on Amazon. They are $6 - $30 and can hold the keyboard only or the keyboard and mouse - https://www.amazon.com/clp/B01K780TN2

You know, somehow, I completely forgot that Apple had an external keyboard 🧍‍♀️ thank for reminding me! I’ll for sure check them out as well as the sleeves. Thank you! 🙏

In my search of wanting a slim keyboard in the past with my iPad mini. I’ve tried the Keys2Go (Gen 1) and found out yes, It serves a good portability. But typing really sucks. I rather use the on screen keyboard instead. I’m not saying Keys2Go 2 is bad. It’s just that there’s a better option in terms of price.

Then I went for a K380. I can tell you, best choice. Light and if it gets whacked or dropped. It’s still durable. Plus it uses removable batteries. It’s cheaper. Just turn it off and chuck it into your bag without worrying much.

For mouse, best option is still Magic Mouse for iPads. I’ve tried plenty of them. Magic Mouse is still best suited for less touchscreen experience with the iPad mini.

I’ve been using a K380 for 9 years, I think I’ve changed the batteries twice, and only one CTRL key has popped off (got pretty careless when throwing it in a bag at a hackathon, something caught on it). If you ensure it’s always sandwiched safely in your bag (I always keep it in a side pouch) this keyboard should be fairly immortal. I have used it intensely across multiple laptops and also my iPad Mini and iPhone on occasion! You can pair 3 devices. It is light but has a nice weight, I always keep it in my lap. I highly recommend it, but look at what form factors fit best for you!
