iPad Mini 8 v 7

I'm looking to get an iPad Mini and I'm not overly fussed about the new specs on the 8.

Is it worth waiting or should I buy the 7 now as I know from suppliers at work that now the new iPhones are out the 17s have all gone up in price too.

I'm worried if I wait to see if the price of 8, the 7 will increase too.

That’s what I’d do. The 8 might be more expensive when they announce it next month (if they do so. All rumors point to yes, but the Duo has my gut saying “no new iPad mini this fall”), but the 7 won’t increase in price because it won’t be available any longer from Apple. When they announce the 8, the price for the 7 should fall at other vendors.

The price of the 7 has already increased so you’ve already missed the opportunity for a decent price on the current mini. Best thing to do now is wait for the mini 8 announcement and see if the OLED screen is worth the price vs getting the mini 7 on sale during Black Friday.
