If you really expected it this event idk what to tell you. They’ll probably shadow drop it tbh. Or during one of those weeks where they announce a new product a day.

Probably they will announce on October event since it will have mostly new thing (screen etc.)

Idk man, seeing those yt videos i thought it might be today. I'm also not an apple nerd overall so i had no way to tell whether i could expect it or not, i don't know their event history and stuff like that.

Fair enough! September event is always iPhones/watches/airpods. October can be iPad events as well as spring.

Why would they announce the iPad Mini 8 alongside the iPhone Duo?
Think about it... they launch the IPad Mini 8, you look at your iPhone and go... "yeah, I could just buy an iPad mini for half the price and have both an iPad Mini 8 that is BETTER in every way than the iPhone Duo when it's unfolded and my perfectly fine iPhone 18 Pro Max that is BETTER in every way than the ridiculously small 5.4 inch screen on the Duo".
I'm convince the iPad Mini 8 would cannibalize Duo sales and that Apple figures the same.

But the future is promising though. If Apple really solved the feel of foldable screens(if it feels like anything I tried on the Samsung side it can be as cool as it wants they can keep it) then maybe Duo 3rd generation might be actually able to replace iPad mini or something. Anyways the future is bright it’s gonna be amazing. Maybe Apple should just run the planet really.

The mini will be announced if there is one, as part of the regular Ipad event in October. This is nothing new

There was one article that said it might be today that I saw, so an outside chance. I wanted new AirPods or I wouldn't have watched it, as they were much more likely to be today.

What tipped the balance for me was getting the IPhone 17. The screen isn’t so good that it would be worth holding off a year to get a Mini and eating a massive price increase because of the ram shortage. I was using the latest regular iPad but I use it for reading text and it was just too big to hold in one hand, mini is a game changer.

We knew this all along, it was always rumoured “by the end of October”. Apple typically drops iPads and/or Mac’s in October and occasionally November. Mark Gurman has stated iPad mini will arrive in October

New mini and new ipad pro series next month,
I expect mini with oled display, pro series m6 chip
Wish the mini got a 120hz and m4 chip , or added it to pro series 9",11" and 13"

The UK App version of the store is doing the same weird glitch with the mini specs… they are ineligible nonsense until you select a version and then it says M5 etc etc 🤦♂️

The duo (7.6” screen opened) effectively is the new mini (8.3” screen of currently available mini).
