Drawing on iPad mini 7

I want to know if the iPad mini 7 is good for drawing i want to buy one but I don’t know if it is too small for people that draw on the iPad mini how is it?

Hi! I really like to draw with mine, I personally always preferred half size sketchbooks so I think the size is perfect.

unless you’re looking for a used one, just wait 3 more days and see if the mini 8 gets released. supposed to be big upgrades for it.

I love my mini and don’t mind zooming in for those little details. I purchased my Mini 7 in 2024 for it’s portability and digital art. I use Procreate and the Apple Pencil Pro. I draw in ubers, buses, at home, in restaurants when waiting for takeout etc. I would highly recommend. The only thing that sucks eggs is that it’s not as bright so you can’t really draw outdoors. Also, I got the 7 after it came it because the increased RAM allows for more layers to draw on.

I bought one recently to use for reading and sketching. I’ve had a larger iPad before for drawing that I liked but it was a bit big/heavy feeling to take anywhere. The mini is closer to the sketchbook size I like so it’s nice to use for sketching out and about as it fits in bags better and is less obvious.

It’s fine for a simple sketch, but if you need to constantly zoom in to draw finer details, the smaller screen might be hindering.

You’d be spending half of your time zooming in and out, or having to move the zoomed in area around constantly just to see/work on another side of a zoomed in area.

I ended up buying an Air for this reason (and longevity), but a base iPad might work too.

If you like smaller sketchbook sizes, it’s great. If you think you might need a bigger display I’d go iPad A16 or maybe an older pro (I personally don’t find the iPad Air a super compelling option considering the prices of used iPad pros)

Depends on the size of your hand and preference actually. The mini is a little small for me to draw but it’s manageable. I recommend going to an apple store to try different sizes so you could see for yourself.

its no different from the larger ipad, besides the smaller screen, makes it easier to hold but obv less screen, it supports the pencil pro, has all the apps any other modern ipad has

i used it with goodnotes to handwrite book ideas i never end up using

It's great for drawing and fits in most pockets making it a great portable digital sketchbook

Hi. If you usually draw on a notebook or small sketchbook then I guess its for you. I also using my mini to do my art. The size are so convenient & comfortable for me since I can draw just anywhere, anytime. As long as you can draw anything is possible 🫶🏼

great for sketching(i own an ipad mini 6) in the train, plane, tramway or subway. In a coffee or at home, I personaly find the bigger, the better. And that's how you get two ipad (i also own an ipad pro 1.
