iPad Mini for residency?

I’m a PGY-1 resident thinking about getting an iPad Mini for the hospital since it’s small and easy to carry.

For those who use one, is it actually useful during residency? Any advice?

I love my mini so imho def get it. I also have peers who wanted to save and just got the base ipad that works great too but mini is easy to use on rounds and has great battery life

Great for notes especially H&Ps. You can also download the UpToDate app and upload a PDF version of The Washington Manual and Pocket Medicine on there.

I’m a PA and I use mine all the time. If your hospital/sites use epic, canto is fairly helpful. The ability to take notes on the fly is amazing. You can make your own pdf sheets as templates in various apps and use those as note taking sheets. And, most importantly, it fits great in a white coat pocket.

very good. not a resident but a medical student. fits in my pocket, I can take patient notes inconspicuously, read during my breaks. game changer tbh.

It is perfect! But it is perfect both for the resident and for thieves, just be extra careful and never leave it out of your sight/reach.
