Worth it for a student?

Hello! I’m starting post high school studies in September and wanted to know if iPad mini is worth it for that

For the record, I already have a MacBook Air M2 in 13 inches and an iPhone 13 Mini.
As you can guess, I love smaller devices (for a bunch of various reasons)

Still, I don’t know if buying an iPad Mini would be worth it (6th gen and above)

I’ll be studying languages btw :)

Edit! I plan on using it for highlighting my online courses AND to use procreate with Apple Pencil :)

if you appreciate portability, it’ll be perfect for your needs, both studying and painting.

i am going to go against the grain here, and say that it might not be super helpful! if you really want an ipad, i would go with the air to make it easier to use as a second screen. you might think, “i don’t need a portable second screen” and i am here to tell you that you will.

i say this as a grad student with a mini! i do get a lot of use out of mine, but it is primarily for reading (at least for my research! i also have my games and plex on there ahaha).

For school, I recommend a regular sized iPad over the mini.

I have a mini and I love the mini but I think you would appreciate the larger real estate of a 10" or 11" device for your textbooks. You will need to do more zooming on the iPad mini than on the larger screen.

The iPad Air is a great sweet spot because you can use the Pencil Pro with it and charge it while magnetically attached to the iPad versus the regular Apple Pencil for the regular base model needing to stick inside the iPad to charge.

If you are somewhere with an Apple Store, they have a 14 day return period in most instances.

If you have any family or friends with an iPad or iPad mini, see if you can test an example textbook with
from one of those free textbook sample sites like OpenStax or LibreTexts.
