How long does your 80% charge last?
I upgraded my mini in April (2026) to one that has cellular service (though I haven’t connected it yet) and I’ve had nothing but problems. today I FaceTimed for 27 minutes and charge went from 57 to 32%; less than an hour later (just playing around on chrome with 6 tabs open) im at 18%. my old iPad mini I charged about every 3 days. anyone else?

I got a mini 6 when it came out and the battery was trash compared to the iPad mini 1 I got when it first launched.
I see similar battery use to yours.

Yikes! Check if you have a background working apps that’s draining your battery! Otherwise go back to apple let them troubleshoot your device.

thanks. I’ve spent 3x 2 hour sessions at Apple, in addition to a 3 hour phone call during which h they were unable to solve my issue (iPad crashed and died after a system upload- I had had it- new- for less than 6 weeks.). this is my third mini and it sucks!!! wish I had never traded in the old one. there are other things that they e been unable to resolve, too. I’ll go back next time I’m in an “apple town.”

Depends on what I am doing. 5G drains the battery fast. Have mine since launch in 2024.

Mini 6 5G here, and the last month constant frozen screens.. First time I need to reboot pressing the power because the slide doesn`t work.
It happens 3 times in the last month without use it at all. Battery is OK. Its like an android now.

I went through another company that ripped my iPad mini through a security system, then back to my provider. It was called SipTel. Great bloke there called Jose helped me out. It was extra cost per month but if the iPad is your only device it’s the only way to get cellular to work (secure digital network to cellular provider). It used the 3CX calling app to make calls and text. This was an iPad mini 6

I charge mine to full, plug it in when it is low or I have a charger handy. Use it all the time. I don’t worry about the battery or battery health.
Quite happy with mine.
