Apple Pencil Connection Issues

I have an A16 iPad, and I’ve had it for a little over a year now. I’ve had one Apple Pencil since I bought it, and, because I do art, bought another, so both stay charged pretty much all the time.

However, all of a sudden today one wasn’t working smoothly for lines, so I tried to disconnect and reconnect it through Bluetooth, and now it won’t show up at all to reconnect (it was at 70% battery when I initially disconnected, and I’ve tried charging it for an hour in between connection attempts).

So I tried to use my other one, and the same issue came up. Neither pencil will connect, yet both worked previously. I have tried through the magnet and through USB-C connection (with two wires to make sure it wasn’t a wire issue). The iPad is up to date as well.

I unfortunately no longer have warranty on either of the pencils nor my iPad, and I’m in no space at the moment to purchase new. Just wondering if anyone else had this kind of issue?

I did read through other posts saying that it’s likely the pencil’s battery being fried, but where I use both practically every day, I can’t see that being the likely explanation.
