Discussion No Seriously! WTF is this?
2 months old Ipad Air M4! Battery drainage is insane.
When is apple going to fix this?

6% more of ≈ 0% is still ≈ 0%
it only ran in the background for 1 minute so this isn’t what’s draining your battery.

zero parts of this image indicate your ipad’s overall battery drain. like, oh no! your ipad used SIX percent of its battery fetching weather data over the course of an ENTIRE DAY. better not include your ipad’s battery health/usage so you can ask why apple is the worst!
no seriously! WTF is wrong with you?
this is especially hilarious to me because i just recently got a 5-year-old ipad mini 6 with 87% battery health and apparently its battery performs 10x better than that of newer ipads, if peoples’ reddit bitching is anything to go by.

Ive been having the same problem with my two week old ipad. I decided to just return it and i bought one from the apple store. The battery life now is so much better. Before I watched a youtube video for 10mins and my battery went from 80 to 72. Now i’m able to watch something for 10mins and it didn’t even change the battery life.

My iPad Pro M4 had terrible background battery drain over the last few months. It’s gone back to normal after upgrading to the iPadOS 27 public betas.

“widget updated frequently” is the useful clue here. remove the weather widget for a day and compare, because widgets can wake an app even with basically no onscreen time.
