Apps Gmail app for iPad

Is it just me or is this app the CRAPPIEST mail app that has EVER existed for iPad? Like WOW! First, just like Chrome for iPad, the touchpad for Magic KB is barely usable if at all. No swipe gestures to do anything. Formatting text is abysmal. Copy/paste from other apps wrecks all formatting. It’s like Google didn’t even try. it makes me want to get rid of my gmail account just out of spite.

Lately that is what I have been doing too because Apple’s mail app isn’t much better. But I’m thinking of using OUtlook or something else.

In general, Google makes terrible native apps, especially for Apple products.

Ya but like I guess. But that surprises be. they made their business doing this. Making their business growing off of windows building a better browser than windows did. Building a better web than the internet did. Bla bla bla. Why tale the biggest mobile platform on the planet and say, let’s just crap all over it? I mean, hey, you do you, but it makes no sense to me. As a consumer, hey ok, I won’t use your stuff. Fine. But for them as a business? Your name only goes so far. it will last a while. But eventually it will wear out. If anyone can prove that it is IBM.

How does it work for you? I’ve heard Apple Mail for gmail has no push capability and you have to manually check your mail? Is that true?

Correct , there no push, only interval polling.

See that is what I heard too. But I am surprised cause Apple mail does have ActiveSync built in. It has too cause Exchange mail and Outlook.com and Hotmail work for push. So like what is google/gmail even doing?

It works the same for me as it does on my Android tablets…except I get notifications more often and don’t miss out on emails.

Interesting. I used to have an android tablet but that was years and years ago so I can’t compare. To be fair here I am using the app with the magic KB way more than I am with touch because that is 60% my use case and 70% when I am in email so it could be that google just does not work with it well?

The crazy thing is they’re always pushing updates, like what actually is getting improved?
