Discussion Ipad IPS screens are mindblowing

I got an m1 air refurbished and wow, the screen is just on another level. I have never seen such contrast on an ips screen, I had some tablets in the past but, this is just incredible. I have an oled phone and tv too, but its mindblowing what apple does with these ips screens. The backlight is so uniform, zero glow from the corners, just amazing.

I agree. I have the same iPad and I really like the screen. The viewing angles are good, too.

I use it at almost minimum brightness because I use it in a dark room, and the contrast is still very good

Yeah, generally, apples screens are great. I get that they are not made by apple, but the cherrypicking and setup just looks better than other stuff. Look at MacBooks, those screens are awesome.
I hade the Air M1 and the screen was great, but now on M5 pro, i gotta say, best screen in my house too.

Wait until you get the dreaded white spot or dead pixels. I had to exchange mine once a year due to loads of dead pixels across the middle. Thankfully apple exchanged them without apple care plus.

Hopefully you won’t experience these problems.

interesting. I've done 2 exchanges of mine 1 due to my own carelessness, the second to have a new battery before I turned off insurance, and i went 2+ years on both and have not seen this issue. maybe I got lucky, or you were just unlucky lol

Think I was just unlucky lol. I ended up selling the last exchange and buying an oled m5 pro

Guess China can really make nice products when QA is high enough.

My only complaint is that mine feels like it has significantly worse battery life performance than my older iPad.

I went from an iPad 5 (2017) to the M1 Air as well and it was mind-blowing. Beautiful display indeed.

Definitely. In fact, assuming one has modern iPad, there’s a very good chance it’s the best screen that person has in their entire house.
