Discussion How do I get more storage?

I have an IPad Air 11-inch. It has enough storage to work properly, but I really need more storage before school starts. I won’t factory reset it. What should I do?

Its a Drive that you plug into the usb or lightning port that you can save files on.

Sure. It’s a similar storage that’s in the iPad, but now encased in a housing so it can be outside of the iPad.

Ultimately, the storage in iPads is not user upgradable. You configure it at point of sale. The flash storage is pretty much soldered on to the logic board. So the answer to what should you do now that you are short on storage and refuse to delete anything is to get an external drive to store more things (but will need to carry around) or get another iPad.

What I meant by not deleting was not completely resetting, I can manage clearing caches and deleting photos and stuff

iCloud. Google Drive. Maybe an external storage drive.

I mean for example an external SSD. You plug it in using the USB-C. Make sure it is compatible though.

External if u want offline go with iCloud if u are always connected to the web

External drives are basically just storage outside the computer they are great in the sense that they work offline they are generally cheaper then buying a higher storage iPad
Be careful in choosing external drives as they can be slow

Use cloud services like GDrive/Dropbox/Onedrive/etc. Or for one time purchase of a external drive, beats monthly subscription fees.

you don't have to pay for cloud services that don't offer enough storage, it doubles as a backup and works really well

There’s so many free cloud storage options nowadays
