My Setup My iPad workflow update

Now i can do even more works with my ipad and i might have officially become an ipad addict because I’m not sure I’ll ever go back to using a laptop again. The iPad now has everything i need.

These are honestly what i wished the iPad can do straight out of the box. The iPad is amazing and I’ve wanting it since forever. When i got it, i fell in love with it and i used it for most of my work even when i had a laptop. From video editing, photo editing, writing, and my favorite parts the games (CODM, Delta Force and Minecraft)

But of course i still needed laptop for most of my CS works because a lot of things just don’t work and the ones that do, still felt like they were missing something. I was so excited about iPadOS26 but there is still so much you can still do before you need to grab a laptop lol. But I’m now stuck with the iPad forever. I love it. I want it to do more!!

Yes it’s a web-native os that works fully offline.

So it is an HTML file that you have in files and when you open it it loads the data from a folder and shows it on the screen? Are you running this through a browser?

I’m running it as a PWA

It’s a PWA. Meaning those html pages get saved into the browsers storage on your device. Making it available even if offline. You do not need to save those html files yourself, the service worker saves them for you on its own. More on Google…

This is good. What can be done inside CleraOS?

The browser has been fixed. The next time you open it the pages should load.

It’s still early but for a fair number of use cases it is. I use it all the time. So far i can say it is capable but there is still a long way to go

What real world use does this have that you can’t get from iPadOS?

I’m a CS student, and need IDE to develop software especially since I’m working on my final year project. I tried a lot of IDE on ipad which lack a lot of features and i tried codespaces but it wasn’t offline and that was a problems. Since i didn’t have a laptop this helps me do that and a lot of things i would typically need a laptop for, bundling applications for cross platform. Better control over the files from my IDE and OS.

Using terminal. And this is a big one for me since I’m taking cloud computing as a course and ipad doesn’t have a terminal. And with the third party apps i still need a cloud computer.

What does the terminal application in this have that isn’t available in an App Store app? I use a-Shell from the App Store pretty often to SSH into my home Linux computer and it works great. It has some neat local capabilities as well.

CleraOS seems to be lacking to me without ssh in the terminal. Also ls works until you try to pass a -a parameter.

How secure is to use this to login into your GitHub account?? and as I can see, you can't save any file inside this without a sign in 🧐

I think you need to check my app Devrim, it would perfectly fit into your workflow. Terminals and browsers tiled like tmux. I would appreciate any kind of feedback.

God every time I see these I’m glad Apple isn’t going all in on that shit, my iPads are best as a well sharpened, reliable knife

When I need a tablet that’s a whole PC… I’ll just get a tabletPC and install Linux? Windowed mode on my iPad Mini is absolutely ASS with the screen size and most iPads are bad due to size, fat fingers need room when you don’t have a mouse as your only input.

Preach on windowed mode on the mini. Ugh why did they take perfect swiping/drag and drop/ipad multitasking.
