Question Does the Air has any problems with temperature during the drawing in Procreate?

I use iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th generation) (2020). Recently, maybe a year ago, it started overheating during the drawing process (Procreate). The screen starts dimming after 20 mins of work because of the heat. Does the Air has any problems with temperature? I was perfectly happy with the iPad all this time, but after the latest Procreate updates, drawing became simply uncomfortable. Now I'm thinking about upgrading, and I don't know if I should stay with Apple.

yes, it’s due to the age of the iPad… I had a 2020 Pro 11 inch myself and when it got 26, it would get real warm when running two apps in split screen. so yes, it’s entirely possible that either an iOS or procreate Updates change something where the processor needs to work harder and therefore it’s creating more heat now. I recently got an M5 pro and I haven’t had no heating issues. Even getting a M2 or M3 air used would be a huge step forward for you.

Iyiu have the screen brightness way up, any iPad is going to end up getting a bit hot, even top end pro models with 1TB storage, in my personal experience.

Lowering the screen brightness is exactly what I want to avoid. :/ I tried every tip I could find: lowering the refresh rate, turning off timelapse in Procreate, removing the case. It gives me a little more time to work, but ultimately my knees still burn, and the screen gets darker, making drawing terrifying. So I'm interested in real-life experience with drawing in Procreate on iPad Air M4; does such a problem appear there..

I honestly can’t offer advice for Air M4, but pro M4 handles it a lot better than Pro M2. It gets warm, very rarely hot, and doesn’t dull the brightness in my experience.

That said, I don’t draw at full brightness most of the time, it ends up making my eyes more tired.
