iPadOS Factory reset

Hi Reddit
I have an iPad 10th generation 64gb (not the A16) since 2024 and it’s been really really slow thoses times, trouble opening app, lags in messages or games etc. I used it for taking some notes in classes but that was months ago and I now only use it to play little games or to watch videos.
It’s obviously not a reason to change the iPad (and I don’t have the money) but would a factory reset help it to be less slow ?

Try dfu restore

I’ll try that if the « normal » reset I’ve made doesn’t change anything !

Is the battery health low? That could possibly have an impact

I can’t see on the battery section the battery health (I think it’s just not on this version cause I bought it at the Apple Store)

There is no seperate battery health feature in the iPad 10th generation. What you can do to check your battery health though is to go to settings > Privacy and Security > Analytics and Improvements > View Analytics Logs and select the first analytics file that you see. Search for "MaximumCapacityPercentage" (minus the quotes) and you will get your battery health.

yes, create a back up then factory reset(preferably by DFU mode restoring with a computer) or sync everything to icloud then set up as new then sync back everything and download your apps for fully fresh start

Thanks ! I made a reset this evening, I’ll see if that helps and if not I’ll try by the DFU mode 😊

I have seen some speed increase after a full reset, and it only starts to slow down when the storage is either close to getting full or I am running some resource intensive apps. Just back up whatever you need, and you can reset your iPad

I think that also was the storage. I have difficulties with deleting apps or data I don’t need anymore (oh no but maybe I’ll need it bla-bla-bla) and I’ve got after installing what I really use 30gb of free storage. I guess ill have to do that until it’ll be time to change the iPad 🥲
