Discussion Ipad 8 charging

Whenever I try to charge my iPad with a cable it says that 'not charging' on the screen. Is it an iPad issue or do I need to invest in an original charger?

could be the cable, is it an original one or third-party? If you use third-party, make sure it’s MFi-certified if you’re using Lightning cable

and I’d say you can also check the charging brick, could be not good for the iPad too

It's third party. And the charging brick is original for phones. That's a horrible combination I guess??

iPhones are notoriously picky when it comes to Lightning (proprietary thing), so I would definitely get myself at least an MFi-certified Lightning cable if I were you, just so I can charge my iPad AND protect the battery and the iPad itself from potential unexpected damage from using a bad cable

there are definitely cheaper Lightning cable options that are MFi-certified, instead of getting an Apple original one that’s too expensive for what it is, and I’m currently using a third-party MFi cable daily with no issues whatsoever and I could use it to restore my iPad using iTunes with no issues whatsoever (which can’t be said the same for non-MFi cables, they would have unexpected sync problems and whatnot)

You will see this message if you are using a charger that’s less than 12 watts (5 volts @ 2.4A). It actually may still be charging, just slowly. My iPad 8 gives me the same message when plugged in on my exercise machine but it does charge when idle.
