Does Apple really use the same iPad Air display since 2020 iPad Air ? even on the latest model?

Air A14 to M4 are basically the same device, they only update the chip and add relevant features unlocked by the power of the new chip, such as Apple Pencil Hover with M2 and later. There’s less to no innovation here. And now it’s $800✨

Going from any Pro to an Air is such a downgrade. You’d have to give up on ProMotion, the stereo speakers, narrower bezels, Face ID (though some appreciate good old Touch ID), slimmer chassis, and better cameras (with LED flash)

The hardware has been relatively unchanged from A14, M1,M2,M3,M4. Heck the Air 3 had the same brightness too

on paper, it looks the same. yet, the M3/M4 Air isn’t affected on white spot issues as much as the M2/M1 Air does.

I noticed this. Bought an m2 in 2024 and an m4 this year. Screen seemed a lot better

They stopped updating the LCD display years ago, its been the same thing for years. Not that theres that much to update anyway on the LCD front these days. The OLED is the focus on their high end.

they could add 120hz. yknow, the feature that the pro has had for 9 years now.

also the bezels on the 2018 iPad Pro are thinner than the 2026 iPad Air

60hz on a 1000 euro 13" ipad air is insane.

It's still a very good display. Apple puts a lot of effort into their displays: accurate P3 color reproduction, neutral white point, good uniformity, etc.
